The Jaltest 74502004 is the software activation for Marine Outboard, the Jaltest diagnostic solution for outboard engines. This is the entry-level product of the module: you purchase it once, we bind it to the serial number of your Jaltest Link, and it then appears in the Jaltest Diagnostics start menu.
The software runs on a Windows PC and reads control units via the Jaltest Link; it will not start without that interface. The purchase itself does not expire – the module remains yours – but for new software versions from the second year onwards, you will need the update licence (74602004).

Applications and functionality
Marine Outboard is Jaltest's diagnostic solution for outboard engines. This activation unlocks that module. What you do with it subsequently depends on the engine and the connection you use.

- Systems and fault codes: The software recognises the control units present and reads out the fault codes, with their descriptions.
- Live measurements: Engine speed, pressure, temperature and other parameters whilst the engine is running.
- Actuation: Direct actuation of components to verify they respond.
- Calibrations and settings: The calibrations and parameter settings that Jaltest offers per system.
- Symptom-based fault finding: Guided search paths that start from the complaint rather than the fault code.
- Technical information: Releases, procedures and manual diagnostics for the systems you access.
- Expert mode: Select a control unit manually when automatic selection is not suitable.

Marine Outboard comes in three versions with identical coverage. The difference lies in what you're purchasing – a one-time purchase, the first year of use included, or a renewal – not in what you can do with it.

What you need
To diagnose with Marine Outboard, you need more than this product. The complete setup is detailed below.
- Jaltest Link: The diagnostic interface. Required, even to start the software on a PC.
- The module itself (74502004): This product. You purchase the module once; it remains yours.
- Adapter cables (optional): Marine cable set for outboard engines (70002010). If you don't have them, you connect using the multipin set from your Jaltest case.

How does it work in practice?
From order to working module there are four steps. The serial number of your Jaltest Link is all you need to find yourself.
- Provide the serial number: Include the serial number of your Jaltest Link in the notes field when you place your order; this is required.
- We activate: We bind the module to that serial number, typically within one working day of your order.
- Confirmation by email: You will hear from us as soon as the module is on your serial number.
- Update software: Start Jaltest Diagnostics and fetch the module; Marine Outboard will then appear in the start menu.
