The timing set (VT18601) is developed for locking the camshaft and crankshaft on Ford 1.5L EcoBoost gasoline engines. This tool is used during maintenance tasks such as replacing the timing belt and checking or adjusting the engine timing.
The set contains specific tools for correctly positioning the camshaft with the VCT system (Variable Camshaft Timing) and fixing the crankshaft via the flywheel. All parts are supplied in a storage case for transport and storage.
Application and functionality:
This set is designed for performing maintenance on the timing of Ford 1.5L EcoBoost engines.
- Locking the camshaft: The locking plate is used to secure the camshaft in the correct position, which is necessary for adjusting the VCT units.
- Fixing the crankshaft: The flywheel locking tool fixes the crankshaft at Top Dead Center (TDC) to prevent unwanted rotation during maintenance.
- Tensioning the timing belt: The locking pin is used to lock the belt tensioner in the retracted position during the (dis)assembly of the timing belt.
