The VT14106B headlight polishing kit is a system for restoring dull, yellowed, and oxidized polycarbonate headlights. The kit uses a chemical vapor polishing process, where a liquid is evaporated and applied to the headlight plastic. This process restores clarity and removes superficial damage. The vaporizer cup is powered via a 12V connection from a vehicle.
During the process, the repair liquid in the supplied cup is heated, creating a polymer vapor. When this vapor comes into contact with the pre-sanded headlight surface, the polycarbonate fuses together and forms a new, smooth, and clear top layer. This eliminates scratches and discolorations and also provides a protective layer against weather conditions and UV radiation.
Application and functionality:
The kit is designed to restore the original clarity of headlights through a vapor treatment. The steps for application are as follows:
- Preparation: The headlight surface must be cleaned and wet sanded with the supplied sandpaper to remove the old, damaged top layer. The area around the headlight is taped off with tape.
- Heating: The repair liquid is poured into the vaporizer cup, and the cup is connected to the 12V power supply to heat the liquid until it evaporates.
- Application: The vapor is evenly guided over the headlight surface using one of the attachments. The surface becomes clear immediately.
- Result: Restores the clarity of the headlight and applies a new protective coating that guards against external factors.
