The VT14104 is a Forming Gas Leak Detector designed for detecting leaks in air conditioning systems. The detector works by detecting forming gas, a gas mixture consisting of 95% nitrogen (N2) and 5% hydrogen (H2). Thanks to the adjustable sensitivity with seven levels, the detector can locate both large and small leaks. The flexible probe with a length of 40 cm provides access to hard-to-reach components.
This leak detector is equipped with a microprocessor (MCU) that ensures digital signal processing. Leak signaling occurs both visually via a three-color LED indicator and audibly through a sound signal. The detector features a reset function that allows the sensor to be recalibrated immediately to the ambient concentration. For efficient battery use, an automatic shut-off function is integrated, which turns off the device after 10 minutes of inactivity. The detector complies with the SAE J1627 and EN14624 standards.
Application and functionality:
The detector is developed for systematically checking air conditioning systems for leaks by means of forming gas detection. The functionalities support an accurate and efficient workflow.
- Adjustable sensitivity: The detector has seven sensitivity levels to adapt detection to the size of the expected leak.
- Visual and audible signaling: A three-color LED bar indicates the intensity of the detected gas concentration, while a sound signal alerts the user. The sound function can be turned off.
- Immediate reset function: With the reset button, the detector can be recalibrated at any time, ignoring background gas concentrations.
- Flexible probe: The 40 cm long probe enables inspection in hard-to-reach locations within the air conditioning system.
- Low battery indication: A visual indicator warns when the batteries are nearly empty.
- Automatic shut-off: To extend battery life, the detector automatically switches off after 10 minutes of no use.
