The VT14104 is a Forming Gas Leak Detector designed for detecting leaks in air conditioning systems. The tester works by detecting forming gas, a gas mixture consisting of 95% nitrogen (N2) and 5% hydrogen (H2). Thanks to adjustable sensitivity across seven levels, the tester can locate both large and small leaks. The flexible probe with a length of 40 cm provides access to hard-to-reach components.
This leak detector is equipped with a microprocessor (MCU) that provides digital signal processing. Leak signaling occurs both visually via a three-color LED indicator and audibly through a sound signal. The tester has a reset function allowing the sensor to be immediately recalibrated to the ambient concentration. For efficient battery use, an automatic shut-off function is integrated, which powers off the device after 10 minutes of inactivity. The tester complies with SAE J1627 and EN14624 standards.

The tester is developed for systematically checking air conditioning systems for leaks using forming gas detection. The features support an accurate and efficient workflow.
- Adjustable sensitivity: The tester has seven sensitivity levels to adapt detection to the size of the expected leak.
- Visual and audible signaling: A three-color LED bar indicates the intensity of the detected gas concentration, while a sound signal alerts the user. The sound function can be disabled.
- Direct reset function: The reset button allows the tester to be recalibrated at any time, ignoring background gas concentrations.
- Flexible probe: The 40 cm long probe allows inspection in hard-to-reach locations within the air conditioning system.
- Low battery indication: A visual indicator warns when the batteries are nearly empty.
- Automatic shut-off: To extend battery life, the tester automatically turns off after 10 minutes of inactivity.
