The VT13939 is an 8-piece cylinder head leak tester set, designed to detect carbon dioxide (CO2) in the cooling system of a vehicle. The presence of CO2 indicates internal engine leaks, such as a faulty head gasket, a crack in the cylinder block, or a damaged cylinder head.
The operation of the tester is based on a chemical reaction. The included test fluid changes color upon contact with exhaust gases. The set comes with various radiator adapters, making it suitable for a wide range of vehicles. All parts are stored in a sturdy plastic case.
Application and functionality:
This test set is used for a quick and accurate diagnosis of the cooling system and the engine combustion chamber.
- Leak diagnosis: Detects the presence of combustion gases (CO2) in the coolant, indicating an internal leak between the combustion chamber and the cooling circuit.
- Visual inspection: The test fluid changes color (from blue to green or yellow) upon a positive test result, providing a clear and direct indication of the problem.
- Non-invasive method: The test is performed via the radiator cap or the expansion tank, without the need to disassemble engine parts.
- Wide application: Suitable for use with both gasoline and diesel engines.
