The timing set (VT13853) is a collection of tools for locking the camshafts and crankshaft when performing maintenance on the timing belt. This set is specifically developed for 1.0, 1.2, and 1.4 liter TSI and TFSI petrol engines (EA211 series) of the VAG group, including brands such as Audi, Seat, Skoda, and Volkswagen.
The set contains all necessary components for correct timing, such as a crankshaft locking pin, a camshaft locking plate, and tools for holding the camshaft pulleys. Additionally, a tension wrench and a locking pin for the tensioner are included to precisely adjust and fix the belt tension. The tools are supplied in a sturdy storage case.
Application and functionality:
This tool set is used for replacing the timing belt and for other engine repairs where timing must be fixed.
- Locking the camshafts: Secures the camshafts in the correct position using the camshaft locking plate.
- Locking the camshaft pulleys: Holds the camshaft pulleys in place during loosening and tightening of the central bolts.
- Fixing the crankshaft: Locks the crankshaft at Top Dead Center (TDC) with the crankshaft locking pin.
- Adjusting the belt tensioner: Allows the belt tensioner to be rotated and the correct tension on the timing belt to be set.
