The timing set (VT13850C) is a 7-piece set designed for locking and adjusting the crankshaft, camshafts, and high-pressure fuel pump. The set is specifically developed for 1.4, 1.6, and 2.0 liter TDI Common Rail (CR) engines of the VAG group, produced from 2012 in the EA288 series.
The Package Contents include precision tools such as a crankshaft locking tool, a locking pin for the high-pressure pump gear, and a tensioning wrench. These parts are necessary for properly maintaining the timing belt, such as replacing it or adjusting the engine timing. The set comes in a storage case.
Application and functionality:
This set is used for correctly performing maintenance and repair work on the timing systems of VAG TDI CR engines.
- Locking the crankshaft: The supplied tool (OEM T10490) locks the crankshaft in the TDC (Top Dead Center) position for correct timing.
- Locking the high-pressure pump: The locking pin (OEM T10492) is used to secure the gear of the high-pressure fuel pump during timing belt replacement.
- Tensioning the timing belt: A tensioning wrench (OEM T10051) and a universal locking pin (OEM 3359) are included for adjusting and locking the belt tensioner.
- Fixing the camshafts: The set includes locking pins to lock the camshafts, which is essential when working on the timing system.
