The VT13472 is a 22-piece glow plug electrode removal tool set, specifically assembled for removing broken or stuck glow plug electrodes from the cylinder head. This set enables repair without the need to disassemble the cylinder head, which saves considerable time. The set contains various drills, taps, and pulling tools for controlled removal of electrode residues.
This tool set is universally applicable to diesel engines using glow plugs with thread sizes M8 x 1.0 mm, M10 x 1.0 mm, and M10 x 1.25 mm. The included parts make it possible to precisely drill out the stuck electrode, tap new threads for the pull adapter, and then extract the broken tip. All components are neatly organized in a sturdy plastic storage case.
Application and functionality:
The set is developed for the following tasks:
- Electrode removal: Designed for the safe extraction of the stuck or broken tip of a glow plug from the cylinder head.
- Thread repair: Contains taps to clean or restore the original glow plug thread after drilling out.
- Drilling and tapping: Includes special drills and thread cutters (M3, M4) to drill out the electrode residue and tap a thread for the pulling mechanism.
- Pulling: A pull bolt and various adapters are used to carefully pull the drilled-out electrode from the cylinder head.
