Application and functionality:
This set provides the necessary tools for correctly performing a timing belt change and other engine maintenance.
- Camshaft locking: Locks the camshafts in their TDC position (Top Dead Center) to maintain timing during timing belt replacement.
- Sprocket locking: Secures the camshaft sprockets relative to each other to correctly align the variable valve timing (VVT).
- Crankshaft/flywheel locking: Secures the crankshaft via the flywheel to prevent rotation during loosening and tightening of the central bolt.
- Tensioner positioning: Allows the belt tensioner to be secured in the correct position and the belt tension to be properly adjusted.
