With Universal V1.5 ELM327 interface cable connects your Windows laptop via USB to the OBD2 port of the car. With OBD2 software, you can read and clear fault codes, and monitor live data such as engine speed, temperature and lambda values.

The cable supports the five OBD2 protocols, including the older SAE J1850 PWM and VPW. It draws its power from the OBD2 port and works via a virtual COM port. A simple, wired cable for basic diagnostics of engine management.

Operating system: Windows, with the USB serial driver. The cable then appears as a COM port in Device Manager.

The cable is not brand-specific and works on cars that meet the OBD2/EOBD standard:

  • Petrol (Europe): From 2001.
  • Diesel (Europe): From 2004.
  • American cars: From 1996.
