The universal adapter cable forms a connection between a standard 16-pin OBD2 reader and the diagnostic port of a vehicle that does not have a standard OBD2 connection. The cable features a female 16-pin connector on one side and five loose wires with pins on the other side. These wires correspond to the signals for CAN High, CAN Low, K-Line, power (+), and ground (-).
Thanks to the loose pins, a flexible and direct connection can be made to the specific pins of the diagnostic connector of, for example, a motorcycle or scooter. This makes it possible to perform diagnostic actions, such as reading and clearing fault codes from the ECU (Engine Control Unit) on vehicles that use different types of connectors.
Application and functionality:
This adapter cable is designed to establish a communication link between an OBD2 diagnostic tool and the electronic systems of a vehicle.
- Universal diagnostics: Enables reading fault codes, viewing live data, and other diagnostic functions on vehicles without a standard OBD2 port.
- Flexible connection: The five separate pins can be connected to various non-standard diagnostic ports, based on the pinout of the specific vehicle.
- Protocol support: The cable supports communication via both CAN-bus and K-Line protocols, ensuring broad applicability.
Compatible vehicles and Application:
This universal adapter cable is intended for a wide range of vehicles that are not equipped with a standard 16-pin OBD2 diagnostic port. The cable is often used for diagnostics on motorcycles, mopeds, scooters, quads (ATVs), and other light vehicles.
Compatibility depends on the pin assignment of the vehicle's diagnostic port. The user should consult the technical documentation or the vehicle's workshop manual to identify the pins for power (+), ground (-), CAN High, CAN Low, and K-Line. Then the corresponding wires of the cable can be connected accordingly.
Important: Before purchasing the product, always check the connection and pinout of your vehicle. Knowledge of vehicle electronics is required for a correct connection.
