The 24V to 12V OBD2 transformer adapter cable is designed to provide safe voltage conversion when reading heavy vehicles (24V system) with standard 12V diagnostic equipment. By placing this cable between the vehicle and the scanner, the supply voltage is automatically reduced from 24V to a safe 12V level – without interrupting functionality or communication.
This adapter prevents permanent damage to OBD2 scanners that are not designed for use on trucks, buses, or other 24V equipment. Ideal for universal use in workshops that read both passenger cars and commercial vehicles with one diagnostic interface.
Application and functionality:
This adapter only converts the power voltage – the scanner itself must be compatible with the vehicle's diagnostic protocol used (e.g., J1939). Typical functions:
- Equipment protection: Use 12V scanners safely on 24V vehicles
- Widely applicable: Use one scanner on passenger cars and trucks
