The Topdon RLink X3 is an interface cable designed for performing dealer-level diagnostics on vehicles from North American brands. This device functions as a J2534 pass-thru tool and also supports the CAN-FD protocol, making it compatible with a wide range of vehicles from Chrysler, Ford, and General Motors (GM) from the 1996 model year onward.
This interface enables working with more than eight different types of original (OEM) software for tasks such as ECU programming, coding, and performing active tests. The RLink X3 provides access to Topdon's exclusive RLink platform, where users can find lifetime free driver updates and other supporting documentation. d
Application and functionality:
The RLink X3 is a VCI (Vehicle Communication Interface) that connects a computer to a vehicle's OBD2 port for advanced diagnostic and programming functions.
- OEM diagnostics: Uses original factory software (OEM) for in-depth diagnostic procedures, including reading fault codes, viewing live data, and performing service functions.
- Protocol support: Full compatibility with the J2534 pass-thru protocol and the modern CAN-FD protocol for faster communication with newer vehicle architectures.
- ECU programming and coding: Offers the ability to program and code control units, allowing software updates to be performed or modules to be replaced and configured.
- Wide software compatibility: Works with a variety of OEM software packages, including Techline Connect, SPS2, GDS2, and Tech2Win for GM; Forscan, FDRS, and FJDS for Ford; and WiTech2.0 and Alfa OBD for Chrysler/Stellantis/FCA.
- Vehicle coverage: Designed for specific models of Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Ford, and Jeep, with support for diagnostics and programming for vehicles from 1996 to present, depending on the model and software used.
