The Topdon Phoenix Lite 3 is a compact, advanced, and extremely fast Diagnostic Tool at OE level, developed for modern workshops that need powerful diagnostic functionality in a handy format. This third generation within the Lite series offers a significant upgrade in both hardware and software, including an 8-inch touchscreen, Android 10 operating system, and a quad-core processor. The Phoenix Lite 3 combines in-depth system diagnostics, advanced coding capabilities, and more than 30 maintenance functions, making it a complete solution for daily diagnostic tasks.

Wireless communication takes place via the Phoenix MDCI Pro VCI, an advanced interface that supports the latest communication protocols such as CAN-FD and DoIP. This makes the system suitable for fast and stable diagnostics on the newest vehicle platforms. The device is delivered standard with two years of free software updates, giving users access to a rapidly growing vehicle coverage of more than 200 car brands worldwide. After the free update period expires, the system continues to function fully on the last installed software version.

The Topdon Phoenix Lite 3 offers powerful OE-level diagnostic capabilities and is designed to make faults quickly, accurately, and visually understandable. The functions are suitable for both routine inspections and in-depth system diagnosis on modern vehicles.

• Full system diagnosis (OE-Level): Provides access to all electronic control units, including engine, transmission, ABS, airbag (SRS), BCM, steering, infotainment, and more. Supports reading and clearing fault codes, including technical descriptions.
• Topology mapping: Visualizes the vehicle's communication network as an interactive module map. The status of each ECU is clearly displayed (e.g., online, fault, offline), helping to quickly locate network errors or missing communication.
• Active tests (bidirectional control): Sends commands to components and actuators such as the fuel pump, cooling fan, locking motors, or EGR valve to directly test their operation without disassembling parts.
• Live datastream: Displays real-time sensor data per module in text view, digital graphs, or combined gauges. Supports display of up to 12 datastreams simultaneously, including recording function for comparison and fault tracing.
• AutoVIN & AutoScan: Automatically recognizes the vehicle based on the VIN number and performs a full scan of all available modules, including fault codes, system status, and communication protocols.

• Easy sharing: Reports can be shared directly from the tablet via email, allowing customers to be informed quickly without the intervention of external systems or software.

Programming and coding functions:

The Phoenix Lite 3 offers powerful coding capabilities for customizing, configuring, and optimizing vehicle modules. These functions make it possible to personalize systems, correctly learn new parts, and perform advanced adjustments.

• Advanced ECU coding: Supports customizing and recoding electronic control units. This allows hidden functions to be activated, such as deactivating start/stop, enabling welcome lighting, or changing settings after component replacement.
• Online coding: Communicates with the manufacturer's servers to retrieve original coding data. Supports online coding for, among others, Volkswagen, Audi, Seat, Skoda, Porsche and BMW, which is essential for vehicles with component protection or server-based coding.
• Guided functions (VAG): For vehicles from the Volkswagen group, the Phoenix Lite 3 offers step-by-step guidance for complex procedures such as key programming, coding ABS units, or performing basic settings. This reduces errors and speeds up the workflow.
• Important limitation: The Phoenix Lite 3 does not support full ECU programming (flashing). The device therefore cannot fully rewrite firmware or provide ECUs with new software versions. For such applications, a more advanced platform is required, such as the Topdon Phoenix Max.

• Support for CAN-FD & DoIP: The Phoenix MDCI Pro VCI supports the latest communication protocols, including CAN-FD (required for e.g. GM and Ford) and DoIP (required for e.g. BMW, Volvo and Land Rover). This guarantees stable and fast communication with the latest vehicle platforms.
• FCA AutoAuth access: Provides direct, authorized access to the Secure Gateway (SGW) of vehicles from Fiat, Chrysler, Alfa Romeo and Jeep. A valid AutoAuth account is required to perform diagnostic and maintenance functions without restrictions.
• Extensive vehicle coverage: Support for more than 200 vehicle brands, including European, Asian, American, and supercar brands such as Ferrari, Maserati, Bentley, Lamborghini and more. This makes the system suitable for universal workshops with diverse vehicle types.

• Battery analysis (BT Mobile ProS): Supports connection with the Topdon BT Mobile ProS Battery tester, for comprehensive analysis of 12V Batteries, the starting circuit and the charging system. Test results are displayed directly on the tablet.
• Videoscope (Phoenix Scope): Compatible with the Phoenix Scope inspection camera, ideal for visual inspection of hard-to-reach components such as cylinder heads, turbos, or dashboards.

After the first year, the license can be renewed for an annual fee. The device remains fully functional for already supported models, even without license renewal. However, new software updates can no longer be installed, and some online features may be limited or no longer supported.
