The Topdon BT500P is a battery tester designed for analyzing the status of 12V and 24V lead-acid batteries. This device measures the actual Cold Cranking Amps (CCA), the State of Health (SoH), and the State of Charge (SoC) of a battery. Additionally, it performs tests on the vehicle's starting and charging system. The measurement range for CCA is between 100 and 2000A.
A distinctive feature of the BT500P is the built-in thermal printer, which allows test reports to be printed directly for documentation or for customers. The device features a 2.4 inch color screen for displaying measurement results and graphs, such as the voltage waveform analysis. The tester is equipped with reverse polarity protection to prevent damage to the battery or device.
Application and functionality:
The BT500P offers a range of tests for analyzing a vehicle's battery and charging system.
- Battery test: Analyzes the overall condition of the battery by measuring internal resistance, voltage, State of Health (SoH), State of Charge (SoC), and the CCA value.
- Start test: Checks the functionality of the starting system by measuring and analyzing the starting voltage and start time during engine start.
- Load test: Evaluates the performance of the vehicle's charging system, including measurements of no-load voltage, load voltage, and alternator ripple voltage.
- Built-in printer: Equipped with a thermal printer for direct printing of test results. This allows handing over a physical report.
- Voltage waveform analysis: Monitors the battery voltage in real-time and displays it in a graph, helping to identify irregularities.
- Multilingual support: The interface can be set in various languages, including Dutch.
Supported battery types:
This battery tester is suitable for various 12V and 24V lead-acid batteries.
- Regular Flooded: Standard wet lead-acid batteries.
- AGM Flat Plate: Batteries with Absorbent Glass Mat technology and flat plates.
- AGM Spiral: Batteries with Absorbent Glass Mat technology in a spiral design.
- GEL: Gel batteries where the electrolyte is bound in a gel mass.
- EFB: Enhanced Flooded Batteries, an improved version of standard wet batteries.
Supported battery standards:
The device supports a wide range of international Battery standards for performing tests.
- CCA: Cold Cranking Amps
- BCI: Battery Council International
- CA: Cranking Amps
- MCA: Marine Cranking Amps
- JIS: Japan Industrial Standard
- DIN: German Institute for Standardization
