Topdon BT100 | Battery Tester
The Topdon BT100 is a battery tester designed for analyzing the condition of 12V lead-acid batteries. The tester measures various parameters to provide a complete picture of the battery's health, such as the State of Health (SOH) and State of Charge (SOC). The device is suitable for batteries with a capacity within a range of 100 to 2000 CCA and supports a wide range of battery standards.
In addition to the standard battery test, the BT100 also performs a start test and a charge test. This not only analyzes the battery itself but also the performance of the vehicle's starting and charging system. The tester features built-in reverse polarity protection, preventing damage to the tester's electronics and the battery. The results are displayed on a clear and readable LCD screen.
Application and functionality:
The tester offers multiple diagnostic functions for a complete analysis of a vehicle's battery system.
- Battery test: Analyzes the battery to determine the health status (SOH), charge status (SOC), internal resistance, and the actual CCA value.
- Start test: Measures the starting voltage and start time to check the operation of the vehicle's starting system.
- Charge test: Checks the operation of the charging system (alternator) by measuring the charging voltage under no-load and load conditions, including a charge ripple test.
- Reverse polarity protection: The internal protection prevents damage if the clamps are connected incorrectly to the battery terminals.

- Regular lead-acid (Flooded): Standard wet cell batteries.
- AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat): Both flat plate and spiral variants.
- GEL: Batteries where the electrolyte is in gel form.
- EFB (Enhanced Flooded Battery): An improved version of the standard wet cell battery.
