The Topdon ArtiMini update licence extends your entitlement to software updates for the ArtiMini with one year. The ArtiMini is a compact tablet with a wireless VCI module from an earlier generation of the product range. Between software updates, the device itself remains unchanged, whilst the vehicle fleet arriving at your workshop continues to evolve. The wireless OBD adapter provides space to walk around the vehicle during diagnostics, and the device performs standard resets as well as starter interrupt adjustment and injector coding.
A licence renewal keeps the manufacturer coverage and the reset procedures where the manufacturer continues to release new versions for this generation. The licence extension operates via a card with a code which you receive by email and enter yourself into the update menu . We need the serial number of your ArtiMini is required, so please specify this when ordering. Without an extension, the device will continue to function on the version currently installed.

What a licence extension on the ArtiMini actually does is easiest to understand by dividing the software into three parts. There is the vehicle coverage, there are the function files and there is the online platform. All three advance with an active licence.
What a renewal provides
- New vehicle coverage: Brands, models and model years added after your last update become available within existing diagnostic functions.
- Expanded service functions: Procedures such as oil service, steering angle sensor calibration, electronic parking brake, ABS bleeding and diesel particulate filter regeneration remain compatible with newer vehicles as manufacturers update their systems.
- Corrections and improvements: Bug fixes, faster routines and corrected procedures in the software itself arrive through the same updates.
What happens without renewal
- No updates: New coverage and new procedures no longer reach the device.
- Online functions: Anything the software does not have built-in may stop working afterwards.
- What remains: Everything the device can do at that moment, it will continue to do; the ArtiMini does not lose value, it simply does not become newer.

How does it work in practice?
In practice, it's Four steps and then wait for the download. We only need the serial number from you.
- Ordering with serial number: Provide the serial number of the ArtiMini when ordering, as we cannot process anything without that number.
- Code by email: We send you the renewal card digitally, usually within one working day.
- Activate on the device: On the ArtiMini, go to the update menu and enter the code there.
- Update: Ensure you have wifi, tick the new versions in the update menu and let the installation run.
