The Thinkcar Thinkdiag is a compact reader device in the form of a dongle, designed to communicate via Bluetooth with a smartphone or tablet. The device supports more than 115 Car brands and performs full system diagnostics on all present electronic control units. Key functionalities include bi-directional control, ECU coding, and more than 15 service and maintenance functions. A 1-year software update license is included with purchase.
In addition to standard diagnostic functions, the Thinkcar Thinkdiag offers advanced features such as generating diagnostic reports, which can be digitally stored and shared. The software allows live data to be displayed graphically for detailed analysis. The compact form factor makes it a portable solution for both private users and professional mechanics.
Diagnostic functions:
The Thinkcar Thinkdiag performs a full system scan, analyzing all electronic modules in the Car.
- Read and clear fault codes: Reads and clears fault codes (DTC's) from all available systems, such as the engine, transmission, ABS, and airbag.
- Live data: Displays real-time data from sensors and components in text and graph form for detailed analysis of vehicle performance.
- Actuator control (Bi-directional control): Directly controls components to test functionality, such as activating headlights, windshield wipers, or fuel pumps.
- Automatic VIN recognition: Automatically identifies the Car based on the chassis number (VIN) for quick and accurate selection.
Service and maintenance functions:
This device supports more than 15 service and maintenance functions. Available functions may vary by specific Car brand, model, and year.
Engine and drivetrain:
- Reset oil service: Resets the service interval for the engine oil after a change.
- Code injectors: Registers new injector codes in the control unit after replacement.
- Learn throttle body: Resets the basic settings of the electronic throttle body after maintenance or replacement.
- Initialize transmission: Adjusts the shift points of the automatic transmission after maintenance.
- Register Battery: Registers a new Battery in the vehicle management system.
Exhaust systems:
- Diesel particulate filter regeneration (DPF): Starts forced regeneration of the DPF to clear blockages.
- EGR valve learning: Learns the new values of the exhaust gas recirculation valve after replacement or cleaning.
Brakes and chassis:
- Electronic parking brake (EPB): Activates or deactivates the brake system for maintenance, such as replacing brake pads.
- ABS system bleeding: Removes air from the brake lines of the ABS braking system after repairs.
- Steering angle sensor initialization (SAS): Calibrates the sensor that measures the steering wheel position, necessary for systems like ESP.
- Air suspension calibration: Resets the height sensors of the air suspension.
Body and electronics:
- Tire Pressure Monitoring System reset (TPMS): Resets the TPMS after replacing a sensor or tire.
- Adaptive headlights reset (AFS): Calibrates the adaptive headlights system.
- Sunroof initialization: Resets the basic settings of the sunroof, for example after a power interruption.
