The Tesla 26-pin "Full OBD" adapter cable is an advanced diagnostic adapter, specially designed for reading extensive vehicle data from the Tesla Model 3 and Model Y. This cable is usually configured as a Y-splitter, allowing you to simultaneously connect an OBD2 scanner while keeping the original port accessible for other uses.
This “Full” version provides access to all relevant data lines on the 26-pin Tesla diagnostic port, including the various CAN buses for drivetrain, battery, chassis, and comfort systems. It is ideal for permanently installing a monitoring dongle, for example for long-term log recording with apps like Scan My Tesla.
Application and functionality:
This adapter cable is intended for unlocking full vehicle data, which goes far beyond standard OBD2 parameters. In combination with a OBDLink MX+ or similar Bluetooth adapter and software such as Scan My Tesla, the following systems can be monitored in detail, among others:
- Battery management: cell voltages, temperatures, charge cycles, State of Health (SoH)
- Drivetrain: real-time power, torque, RPM, motor temperatures
- Chassis and HVAC: data from braking system, suspension, steering, and heat pump
Thanks to the Y-splitter functionality, a dongle can remain permanently connected while the diagnostic port remains free for other uses.
Compatible with the following vehicle makes and models:
This cable is only compatible with Tesla models equipped with the 26-pin diagnostic connector. Compatible vehicles:
- Tesla Model 3: produced from January 2019
- Tesla Model Y: all model years
Note: Tesla Model 3 vehicles from before January 2019 require a separate 20-pin adapter. The 26-pin port is accessible via the back of the center console, in the rear passenger footwell.
