The Adapter Cable connects vehicles of the Subaru brand with a 9-pin OBD1 diagnostic port to modern 16-pin OBD2 reading equipment. This cable is specifically designed to enable diagnostics on older Subaru models that are not yet equipped with the standardized 16-pin OBD2 port. The cable ensures a correct physical connection between the vehicle and the diagnostic device.
The adapter converts the pin-out of the vehicle-specific 9-pin connector to the universal 16-pin connector of the diagnostic device. This allows fault codes (DTCs) to be read and reset, and depending on the scanner used, live data from the engine and sensors can be viewed. The cable functions as a passive pass-through and requires no external power or software installation.
