The OTOFIX D1 update licence extends your entitlement to software updates for the D1 with one year. The D1 is a diagnostic tablet that accesses all vehicle systems via the V1 interface and draws its coverage from a database that expands as new models enter the market. Beyond reading and clearing faults, the D1 also actuators, valves and pumps directly, and for the VAG group there is online coding, online immobiliser work and the ability to unlock hidden functions. With an active licence, that database current.

An extension covers the vehicle coverage, the service procedures and specifically those online VAG functions, as they only work with an active subscription. We manage the connection to the serial number of your D1 and typically complete this within one working day. No physical package is involved and there is no activation code that can go missing. Without renewal, the software already installed continues to function normally.

✕Per serial number one licence applies per unit, so a second D1 in the same workshop requires its own separate renewal.

✕Vehicle connection plays no role in updates; everything occurs via wifi and the charger.

What a renewal provides

  • Coding files: The coding and adaptation procedures follow the modules released by manufacturers.

What happens without renewal

  • No updates: New coverage and new procedures no longer reach the device.
  • Online functions: Anything the software does not have built-in may stop working afterwards.
  • Remains functional: The device is not locked; all installed functions continue to work fully.

How does it work in practice?

There are four steps between your order and an updated D1, and three of these we handle or the device handles itself.

  1. Find the serial number: Locate the serial number of your D1 and provide it with your order so we can create the correct licence.
  2. We arrange the activation: Usually within one working day, the renewal will be ready on your serial number.
  3. Connect the device: Switch on the D1, connect it to wifi and leave it on charge whilst the download completes.
  4. Download updates: Open the update menu and download the versions that become available.
