The OBDSTAR M076 is an adapter cable that converts a 4-pin OBD connection to a standard 16-pin OBD2 (J1962) connector. The cable is specifically designed for use with MerCruiser and VM Motori combustion engines and allows diagnostic equipment to connect to engines lacking a standard OBD2 port. The adapter cable is only compatible with OBDSTAR readers or programmers.

The M076 connects the brand-specific 4-pin diagnostic port of MerCruiser and VM Motori engines to the 16-pin OBD2 input of the connected OBDSTAR device. Through this connection, the diagnostic signals from the engine are transmitted to the reader, enabling communication with the engine control unit (ECU). The cable thus bridges a non-standard port layout to the universal OBD2 interface of OBDSTAR equipment without requiring additional adapters.
