The OBDSTAR M076 is an adapter cable for the proprietary 4-pin diagnostic port found on MerCruiser and VM Motori engines. It converts that port to the 16-pin OBD2 (J1962)connector on your OBDSTAR diagnostic device, connecting directly to the engine port on the vehicle side.
These petrol engines do not feature a standard OBD2 port. The cable bridges the gap between the non-standard port layout and the universal OBD2 interface, allowing the device to communicate with the engine control unit (ECU) without additional adapters. The cable provides access to engine management only. The diagnostic functions you can perform depend on the software of your connected OBDSTAR device and the diagnostic protocol available in the engine.

The 4-pin OBD diagnostic port is the determining factor, not the engine model. Only engines with this port are supported; a model list with production years is not available for this cable.
