The OBDSTAR N004 is a pass-through adapter that converts a 3-pin OBD connection to a 16-pin OBD2 (J1962) port. On the vehicle side, the adapter connects directly to the proprietary 3-pin diagnostic connector of a scooter or motorcycle.
Different two-wheeler manufacturers use their own 3-pin diagnostic connector. The adapter routes the relevant signal pins to the correct positions of the OBD2 port, allowing the diagnostic scanner to establish a K-line or CAN-bus connection with the vehicle. The compact housing enables direct mounting on the vehicle connector without additional wiring. The adapter provides access to the electronic control unit of the two-wheeler and nothing beyond. Compatibility depends on the model year and available diagnostic port; what you can subsequently perform is determined by the software of your own OBDSTAR device.
KEY BENEFITS
IMPORTANT NOTES
Applications and functionality
Via the 3-pin connector, you access the control unit of the two-wheeler.
Control units you can reach
- Engine control unit: The control unit of the scooter or motorcycle behind the 3-pin diagnostic connector.
- Other modules: Whether additional systems are accessible varies by brand, model and device.
What you can do
- Read fault codes: Retrieve stored diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) from the engine control unit of the two-wheeler.
- Clear fault codes: Erase fault status and trouble codes from the system after diagnosis and repair.
- Request live data: Read real-time sensor values and operating parameters via the K-line or CAN connection.
- Convert connection: The 3-pin vehicle interface is mechanically and electrically converted to the 16-pin OBD2 J1962 connector.
- Please note: Not every model within a supported brand is guaranteed to be accessible; this depends on model year, diagnostic port and device.
Compatible vehicles and applications
The 3-pin OBD diagnostic connector is what matters, not the brand. The brands listed below have been confirmed compatible via that connector. Whether the correct connector is present varies by model; consult the vehicle documentation to verify this.
