The OBDSTAR Toyota-30 V2 Kit is the cable set that allows you to connect directly to the smart key box on recent Toyota models with smart key systems. This enables you to programme a key without a PIN code, and means you don't need to cut or pierce the vehicle's wiring harness.

The kit comprises the Toyota-30 V2 cable (C1021) and a CAN DIRECT cable. Which procedure you follow depends on the type of smart key box in the vehicle: the TMLF19T is used with 4A keys, the TMLF19D with 8A-BA keys. If no keys remain at all, the kit works together with the Key SIM key simulator.

What You Need Additionally

The cable set does not operate independently. Below is what you need to have.

  • An OBDSTAR device with key programming capability: The device that teaches in and programmes the key.
  • OBDSTAR Key SIM: Required only when all keys are lost; available separately.
  • The correct smart key box type: Determine in advance whether the vehicle has a TMLF19T (4A) or a TMLF19D (8A-BA).

If you work regularly on Toyota and Lexus vehicles with a gateway module, also consider the CAN DIRECT-V2 cable: it covers a wider range of models from 2018 onwards.

Important to know: Before you begin, establish which type of smart key box is fitted in the vehicle: the TMLF19T is used with 4A keys, the TMLF19D with 8A-BA. Making the wrong assumption means the procedure will stall halfway through and you'll need to start again.
