The OBDSTAR TCM-011 is an adapter cable featuring a 6-pin connector on the vehicle side for the Getrag VGS2-FCVT transmission control module and a 15-pin DB15-connector on the device side. The 6-pin side connects directly to the TCM connector, which is located within the transmission itself and becomes readily accessible once the module is removed from the vehicle.

The VGS2-FCVT is the control unit for a continuously variable transmission (CVT) supplied by Getrag for compact Mercedes-Benz-passenger vehicles. Its dedicated 6-pin connection allows targeted access to the module, independent of the OBD2 port and vehicle network. This is precisely what is required for operations such as cloning or reprogramming the TCM outside the vehicle. The cable length and connector configuration are designed for workshop use. The cable provides access exclusively to this CVT control unit and no other modules. Which TCM functions you can perform depends on the connected OBDSTAR device and its corresponding software version; the cable itself does not add vehicle coverage.

Control units you can access

Getrag VGS2-FCVT TCM: The continuously variable transmission control unit, via the 6-pin connector on the module.
This module only: Other control units in the vehicle cannot be reached with this cable.

What you can do

Read TCM data: Retrieve the current programming data and configuration settings from the control unit.
Clone TCM: Copy the complete contents of an original module to a replacement unit, preserving the transmission settings.
Reprogram TCM: Overwrite or update the software via direct connection to the 6-pin connector, independent of the vehicle network.
Convert signal to DB15: Transmit the 6-pin TCM signal to the DB15 port of the device for stable data transfer.
Note: Which of these operations are possible depends on the software version of your OBDSTAR device; the cable provides the connection only.
