The OBDSTAR TCM-003 is an Adapter Cable that converts a 16-pin Temic DL501 (0B5) transmission connector to a 15-pin DB15 connector, suitable for use with OBDSTAR diagnostic devices and programmers. The cable is designed for direct connection to the transmission control module (TCM) of vehicles equipped with the Temic DL501 automatic transmission, also known as the 0B5 S-tronic seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. This transmission is used in various Audi Quattro models from the Volkswagen Group.
The Adapter Cable enables a direct TCM connection bypassing the standard OBD2 port, allowing the OBDSTAR diagnostic software direct access to the memory content of the transmission control module. Via the DB15 output, the signal is passed to the connected OBDSTAR device, which can then perform functions such as reading and reprogramming the TCM. The cable construction is tailored to the pinout of the DL501 TCM connector, ensuring correct signal transmission without the need for additional adapters.

Applications and Functions
The TCM-003 Adapter Cable supports the following functions via direct connection to the Temic DL501 transmission control module in combination with a compatible OBDSTAR device.
- Reading TCM data: Reads the current software and calibration data from the transmission control module of the DL501 S-tronic automatic via the direct 16-pin connector.
- Reprogramming TCM: Writes new software data or calibrations back to the TCM, for example after replacing the transmission control module or performing software corrections.
- Pinout adaptation DL501 to DB15: Converts the 16-pin Temic DL501 transmission connector to the 15-pin DB15 interface used by OBDSTAR equipment.
