The OBDSTAR TCM-002A is an Adapter Cable that converts a 20-pin Temic TCM connector to a 15-pin DB15 connector. The cable is specifically designed for use with the Temic DQ250 transmission control module, also referred to as DQ250 (02E/0D9/CXX). This adapter cable is exclusively compatible with OBDSTAR diagnostic devices or programmers and is used for diagnostic and programming tasks on the DSG transmission system in passenger cars from the Volkswagen Group platform.
The cable enables a direct cable connection between the Temic TCM-ECU and the OBDSTAR diagnostic programmer via the device’s DB15 input. The 20-pin round connector plugs directly into the transmission control module’s socket, allowing signal transfer for reading or reprogramming the TCM data. The cable operates outside the standard OBD2 port and requires direct access to the transmission control unit in the vehicle.

Applications and Functions
The TCM-002A supports the following functions when used with compatible OBDSTAR diagnostic programmers on vehicles equipped with the Temic DQ250 transmission.
- Reading TCM data: The transmission control module is accessed directly via the 20-pin connector to read stored calibration data, fault codes, and configuration parameters.
- Reprogramming TCM: New software versions or calibration files are written to the Temic DQ250 TCM via the DB15 connection, for example during replacement or software updates of the transmission control unit.
- Cloning TCM content: The entire memory content of the transmission control module can be read and transferred to a replacement unit, enabling system reinitialization.
