The OBDSTAR T008 is an adapter cable for the ABS module of the Mercedes-Benz 204-chassis, featuring a 15-pin DB15 connector on the device side. The cable is configured as a T-connection: the OBDSTAR diagnostic platform and an additional diagnostic tool can be connected to the system simultaneously.

The ABS module on the C-Class W204 and its derivatives is accessible via a dedicated 15-pin diagnostic interface that is not normally available through the standard OBD2 port. The cable functions as a passive splitter: the signal is distributed to two outputs, allowing a second tool to access the system after the module has been activated via the diagnostic platform. There is no active electronics involved. The cable does not operate independently and provides no general vehicle readout: it is designed specifically for the ABS module on this chassis and works only in combination with the OBDSTAR diagnostic platform. The four body styles listed below are confirmed with model years; what is possible for each vehicle depends on the software of the connected device.

KEY BENEFITS

Two tools simultaneously — the T-structure enables concurrent connection of the diagnostic platform and an additional diagnostic instrument.
ABS module access — the dedicated 15-pin interface of the 204-chassis becomes accessible, whereas it is not normally available through the standard OBD2 port.
Passive design — without active electronics, signal transmission occurs directly, with no conversion losses.
Four confirmed body styles — saloon, coupé, estate and GLK-Class are specified with concrete model years.

IMPORTANT NOTES

OBDSTAR equipment only — the cable cannot be used with diagnostic readers or programmers from other manufacturers.
No additional coverage — the cable provides the connection; ABS procedures themselves come from the software of the connected device.
Chassis-specific — the cable is for the Mercedes-Benz 204-chassis; other chassis series or manufacturers are not supported.
Never standalone — without an OBDSTAR diagnostic platform, the cable is not a usable connection tool.

Applications and functionality

In combination with OBDSTAR diagnostic readers or programmers, the cable supports the following work on the 204-chassis.

Control units you can access

  • ABS module (204-chassis): Accessed via the vehicle's dedicated 15-pin diagnostic interface rather than the standard OBD2 port.
  • No other vehicle systems: The cable is designed specifically for the ABS interface on this chassis and does not unlock any other control modules.

What you can do

  • Access the ABS module via DB15: Read fault codes and perform diagnostics on the ABS module of the 204-chassis.
  • Connect in parallel: Link the diagnostic platform and an additional diagnostic tool simultaneously to the module.
  • Monitor signal after activation: Allow a second instrument to monitor after the module has been actively controlled via the diagnostic platform.
  • Operate outside the standard diagnostic port: Use the ABS interface, which is not located at the conventional OBD2 position.
  • Important: The cable does not perform procedures independently and always requires use in combination with the OBDSTAR diagnostic platform.

Compatible vehicles and applications

The determining factor is the 204-chassis with its corresponding ABS diagnostic interface, not the model designation C-Class. The body styles listed below are confirmed compatible. Later C-Class models on a different chassis fall outside the scope of this application.

Mercedes-Benz:

  • C-Class (W204): (2007–2014)
  • C-Class Coupé (C204): (2011–2015)
  • C-Class Estate (S204): (2007–2014)
  • GLK-Class (X204): (2008–2015)
💡
Good to know: The diagnostic connection for the ABS system on the 204-chassis is not located at the standard OBD2 position, but is accessible via the wiring of the ABS module itself. Verify the chassis designation and model year of the vehicle before ordering.
