The OBDSTAR RT100 answers in two seconds the question that often starts key work: does this remote actually transmit? You hold the key fob in front of the device, press a button, and the light for the corresponding frequency band illuminates. If everything stays dark, the key isn't transmitting — and there's no point searching the vehicle.
The device recognises three bands: 300 to 320 MHz, 434 MHz and 868 MHz. It also tests the infrared function of a key: if the IR indicator lights up when you press a button, the infrared works; if it doesn't, it doesn't. The RT100 operates independently — no tablet, no cable, no software. Switch it on, hold the key in front, done.

The RT100 performs two functions, both in just a few seconds. Below is how it works and what it delivers for you.
The two tests
- Frequency testing:Switch on the device, hold the remote control close to it and press a button on the key. The indicator light for the recognised frequency band will illuminate.
- Infrared testing:Point the key at the device and press a button. If the IR indicator lights up, the infrared component is functioning; if it remains off, that component is faulty.
The three frequency bands
- 300 to 320 MHz:The frequency predominantly used on American and Japanese vehicles; 315 MHz is the standard value in those markets.
- 434 MHz:The most common remote frequency found on European vehicles.
- 868 MHz:The higher European frequency band, used in newer models among others.
What you get
