The OBDSTAR M028 is the adapter cable for the shared diagnostic port on PGOmotorcycles, which comprises two separate 6-pin connectors. Both connect simultaneously to the vehicle; on the other end sits a single 16-pin OBD2 (J1962) connector for your OBDSTAR diagnostic equipment.
Because PGO distributes the diagnostic connection across two connectors, the signal lines are only complete once both are connected. The cable consolidates them into the OBD2 outlet, including the K-line communication circuit and power pins. The cable itself contains no active electronics. Through it, the device communicates with the motorcycle's engine control unit (ECU). The diagnostic functions themselves come from the connected OBDSTAR device and its associated software, not from the adapter cable.
KEY BENEFITS
IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS
Applications and functionality
Via the combined 6+6-pin connector, you can access the engine electronics of the PGO.
Control units you can reach
- Electronic control unit (ECU): The engine control connected via K-line to the shared diagnostic port.
- Other modules: Whether additional units are accessible varies by model and device.
What you can do
- Read fault codes: Retrieve stored diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) from the motorcycle's ECU.
- Clear fault codes: After diagnosis and repair, remove codes from the ECU memory.
- Vehicle identification: Request vehicle and system information via the K-line connection, such as the VIN number and ECU data.
- Read live data: Monitor sensor values and driving parameters in real time over the active communication line.
- Note: Which functions you get depends on the connected OBDSTAR device and its associated software.
Compatible vehicles and applications
The 6+6-pin diagnostic port is what matters, not the model alone. The PGO models listed below are equipped with this port; only confirmed applications are listed.
PGO:
- Bugrider 250: (2004–present)
- Gmax 300i: (2012–present)
- T-Rex 50: (2005–present)
- T-Rex 110: (2005–present)
