\nThe OBDSTAR P004 Basic Kit is the entry-level kit for bench work to control modules, with airbag reset as the primary application. The kit works in conjunction with the KeyMaster G3 and the P50 and comprises the P004 adapter with the associated jumper cables.\n
\nThe adapter secures the peripheral equipment in normal communication, regardless of whether the 12 V power button is on or off. There is a switchable 120 Ω terminating resistor for CAN-bus control modules, and it supports 6 and 14 and 3 and 11 CAN-bus simultaneously, GM Single CAN and K-line. The DB15 connector fits all OBD2-16 connectors.\n

Applications and functionality
The P004 sits between your KeyMaster G3 or P50 and the removed control module. The device executes the procedure; the adapter supplies power and ensures correct bus termination.
What you can do with it
- Airbag reset: The primary application: process crash data from the airbag control unit on the workbench.
- ECU programming in bench mode: Read and write control modules outside the vehicle.
- Read and write data: Extract memory contents, save and restore them.
- Correct bus termination: Use the switchable 120 Ω resistor to set the CAN-bus to the correct impedance.
Communication
- CAN-bus: Supports pins 6 and 14 and 3 and 11 simultaneously.
- GM Single CAN: Dedicated support for the GM SCAN variant.
- K-line: K-line communication is supported.
- Connector: DB15, compatible with any OBD2-16 port.
What you need additionally
The kit does not work standalone. Below is what you need to add.
- OBDSTAR KeyMaster G3 or P50: The device that performs the operation. OBDSTAR specifies these two devices for this kit.
- The removed control module: This is bench work; the module is taken out of the vehicle.
- Knowledge of pin assignment: The jumper wires connect to the module's contact points; the wiring diagram supplied with the device shows you the way.
At the P50 airbag reset is the device's core function; with the KeyMaster G3 this is handled via the separate Crash Reset module, which requires its own software licence.
