The OBDSTAR P003 Kit is an accessory kit for bench work on engine control modules: it reads and writes EEPROM and flash memory from engine control units and calculates the immobiliser data you need to programme keys. The kit works with the OBDSTAR IMMO-series tablets.
The kit is built around the most common control module families: Bosch ME17XX, MED17XX and EDC17XX and the Continental PCR2.1. These are the controllers you'll encounter in the VAG group, PSA brands and a range of other manufacturers. OBDSTAR now markets this product as the P003+; the MP001 is the successor with additional I/O ports.

Applications and capabilities
The P003 Kit sits between your OBDSTAR tablet and the removed control module. The tablet performs the operation; the kit establishes the connection on the bench.
What you can do with it
- Read and write ECU EEPROM: Extract the engine control module memory, save it and write it back.
- Access flash memory: Read and write the flash contents of supported controllers.
- Calculate immobiliser data: Derive from the extracted contents the information you need to programme keys.
- Programme keys: OBDSTAR also offers support for key programming on Toyota, Ford, Lincoln, Honda, Suzuki and Yamaha vehicles.
- Transmission work: Support for T87A and 6HP transmission controllers.

- Continental: PCR2.1.

The controller in the vehicle determines compatibility, not the manufacturer alone. OBDSTAR lists the following brands for this kit.
- VAG Group: VW, Audi, Seat, Škoda, Bentley and Lamborghini.
- PSA Group: Peugeot, Citroën and DS.
- Other brands: Porsche, Opel, Saturn, Vauxhall, Mahindra and Toyota.
What else you'll need
The kit does not operate independently. Below is what you need to go with it.
- An OBDSTAR IMMO series tablet: The device that performs the operation. OBDSTAR designates the IMMO series as the host for this kit.
- The removed control module: This is bench work; the module is removed from the vehicle.
- The wiring diagram from the tablet:The Manual column in the OBDSTAR software provides the exact schematic for each ECU type.
Do you frequently encounter SIMOS 18 controllers? Consider the MP001 Kit: it features twelve IO ports instead of four and will fit within your constraints.
