The OBDSTAR P003 Kit is a set of accessories designed for programming Engine Control Units (ECUs). This kit enables reading and writing ECU data in BENCH and BOOT mode. The P003 Adapter and the included cables are compatible with the OBDSTAR X300 DP PLUS and the OBDSTAR P50 programming devices. The set is specifically developed for working with various Bosch ECUs, such as the EDC17, MED17, and ME17 series.
With this kit, technicians can perform advanced operations, including ECU cloning and password reading, without needing to open the control unit housing. The different boot cables provide a stable and direct connection to the ECU pins, facilitating data transmission for tasks such as data extraction, backup, and recovery.
Application and functionality:
The P003 kit is used for direct communication with the microprocessor and memory of an ECU. The main functions are:
- BENCH mode: Allows reading and writing the complete data of the ECU (Flash and EEPROM) without opening the ECU. This is a non-intrusive programming method.
- BOOT mode: Provides access to the ECU by connecting a specific pin to ground, causing the microprocessor to start in programming mode. This method is used for reading passwords or for recovery operations.
- ECU cloning: Duplicating all software and data from an original ECU to a replacement or donor ECU. This includes immobilizer data, injection maps, and configuration settings.
- Password reading: Reading the password from various Bosch EDC17, MED17, and ME17 ECUs, which is required to obtain read and write access.
