The OBDSTARN019 connects the KTM 6-pin diagnostic connector on the vehicle side with a 16-pin OBD2 connector (J1962)on the device side. On the vehicle side, the compact 6-pin connector fits the manufacturer-specificdiagnostic connector of the motorcycle, which is typically located beneath the seat or behind a fairing panel.\n
KTM uses its own six-pin diagnostic connector on a large portion of its models. The adapter converts the pin configuration and signal lines thereof to the corresponding J1962-pins, enabling communication via, among others, the K-line or CAN-bus as far as possible. There is no active electronics inside: signal transmission is entirely passive, which means the adapter does not interfere with vehicle communication. The adapter connects your device to the motorcycle and does not process any data itself. What can subsequently be read or programmed is determined by the motorcycle coverage of the connected OBDSTAR device. The model list below is provided by series without individual production years; the source specifies only that these are versions with the 6-pin connector.\n

Applications and functionality
When used with an OBDSTAR device that supports motorcycle diagnostics, the adapter enables the following operations on KTM models equipped with the six-pin port.
Control units you can access
- Motorcycle control units: The adapter provides access to control units connected via the six-pin diagnostic connector.
- Engine system: The engine system is accessed via K-line or CAN-bus, depending on the model variant.
What you can do
- Read fault codes: Retrieve stored and live diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) from the control units.
- Clear fault codes: Remove confirmed fault codes from the memory of the relevant control unit after diagnosis or repair.
- Stream live data: Monitor real-time sensor values and engine parameters for system analysis.
- Convert signal path: Passively route the KTM 6-pin signal to J1962 format, allowing your device to correctly interpret vehicle communication.
- Important: The adapter does not add diagnostic capability beyond what your connected OBDSTAR device supports for the model.

The six-pin KTM diagnostic connector is the determining factor, not the series or engine displacement. Within the same series, some variants have this connector and others do not.
