The OBDSTAR Key Master 5 is a key programmer developed for immobilizer and transponder work on passenger cars. The device runs on Android 5.1.1 with an RK3128 quad-core ARM Cortex A7 processor and features a 5-inch capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 800x480. The VCI module is internally integrated, allowing charging and communication directly via the OBD connection. This full version includes the P001 programmer with integrated EEPROM adapter, RFID adapter, and Key Renew adapter. The license is valid for 1 year from purchase.
The device includes an IMMO induction coil that can detect faults in the vehicle’s key induction coil. For extra coverage, the C1031 NIO Gateway Harness is available, allowing keys to be programmed on NIO EC6, ES6, and ES8 models (2018-2022) without a PIN. Built-in help notes, wiring diagrams, and a testable vehicle list are directly accessible on the device. Support for WiFi enables online functions and software updates, and a micro-SD card slot up to 32 GB offers expandable storage.

When purchasing the OBDSTAR Key Master 5, a software license is provided that grants access to updates and additional vehicle coverage for a fixed period.
- License period: The license is valid for 1 year from device activation.
- Software updates: Updates add new vehicle models, extended key and immobilizer functions, additional service resets, and bug fixes.
- Extended features: New protocols, recent vehicle models, and additional key programming functions require an active license to install.
- After license expiration: The device will continue to operate with the software version installed at that time, but new updates and expansions can only be installed after renewing the license.
