The OBDSTAR M006 is an Adapter Cable that converts the brand-specific Kawasaki 4+4-pin OBD connector into a standard 16-pin OBD2 (J1962) plug. The cable consists of two separate connectors on the vehicle side — a 4-pin and a second 4-pin plug — which together form the Motorcycle's diagnostic link, and one combined OBD2 plug on the device side. The Adapter Cable is intended for use with OBDSTAR diagnostic tools or programmers for diagnostic work on Kawasaki Motorcycles.
The two 4-pin connectors on the vehicle side connect to the Kawasaki-specific diagnostic ports embedded in the Motorcycle's wiring harness. Through the cable, the diagnostic lines — including the K-line or other vehicle-specific communication lines — are routed to the OBD2 interface of the connected OBDSTAR device. This allows the diagnostic tool to communicate with the control units of the Motorcycle as if a direct OBD2 connection were present. The cable performs no signal processing itself; the conversion is purely mechanical and electrical.

Applications and Functions
The M006 Adapter Cable enables the following diagnostic functions on Kawasaki Motorcycles via an OBDSTAR diagnostic tool or programmer.
- Read and clear fault codes: Through the OBD2 connection, fault codes (DTCs) are read from and cleared in the Motorcycle's control units, allowing reassessment of the fault status.
- Display live data: Real-time sensor values and driving measurement data from the engine system are made visible on the connected OBDSTAR device via the diagnostic link.
- Read control unit data: The Motorcycle's ECU information, such as software version and system parameters, is read via the Adapter Cable for diagnostic and identification purposes.
- Immobilizer functions: Depending on the OBDSTAR device, key and immobilizer data can be accessed for programming or diagnostic work on the anti-theft system.
