The IScan Polaris Multi update licence extends your entitlement to software updates for one year. The IScan is not a single device but a range, with each model limited to one brand or one segment. This licence is for the IScan Polaris Multi and maintains coverage of that specific device. What you receive are new model years, expanded service functions and corrections to existing software.

The licence is tied to the serial number of your IScan Polaris Multi, not to an account or a code. We activate it within one working day on the serial number of your device. When the term expires, the IScan Polaris Multi continues to work on the last installed version, but new software will no longer be added.

POINTS TO NOTE

✕The licence is bound to one serial number and therefore to one device; a second IScan Polaris Multi in the same workshop requires its own separate extension.
✕An extension does not broaden the scope: after extension, the IScan Polaris Multi remains limited to the Polaris group brands for which the device is configured and does not add other brands.
✕An extension provides software and not hardware; you continue to purchase additional cables and adapters separately.
✕Updates cover the diagnostic software, not the operating system of the device.

Two things on your IScan Polaris Multi are tied to the licence. The coverage determines which models the device recognises, and the function files determine what it can do with them.

What an extension provides you with

  • New model years: Models and model years from the Polaris group brands for which the device is configured that have been added since your last update become available within the existing diagnostic functions.
  • Service functions: New and corrected procedures are delivered via the same updates.
  • Corrections and improvements: Bug fixes and faster routines in the software itself are included.

What happens without extension

  • No updates: New coverage and new procedures will no longer reach the device.
  • Online functions: Remote assistance and online functions may become limited or unavailable after expiry.
  • No loss of function: What you do with the device today, you can still do after the licence expires.

How does it work in practice?

From order to updated device there are four steps. Allow for download time if you have not updated for a year.

  1. Serial number: We need the serial number of your IScan Polaris Multi to link the licence; this appears on the sticker on the rear of the device and in the settings menu.
  2. Register with the manufacturer: We register your serial number for the new period, usually within one working day.
  3. Connect the device: Switch on the device and connect it to a stable Wi-Fi network.
  4. Update software: Update the software with one click from the device itself.
