The IScan BMW update licence extends your right to software updates for one year. The IScan is not a single device but a range, each variant of which is limited to one make or one segment. This licence belongs to the IScan BMW and maintains coverage for that specific device. What you receive are new model years, expanded service functions and corrections to existing software.
The licence is tied to the serial number of your IScan BMW, not to an account or a code. We activate it within one business day on your device's serial number. When the term expires, your IScan BMW continues to work on the last installed version, but new software will no longer be added.

How does it work in practice?
From order to updated device takes four steps. Allow for some download time if you haven't updated for a year.
- Serial number: We need the serial number of your IScan BMW to link the licence; it's on the sticker on the back of the device and in the settings menu.
- Registration with the manufacturer: We register your serial number for the new period, usually within one working day.
- Connect the device: Switch on the device and connect it to a stable Wi-Fi network.
- Update the software: Update the software with a single click from the device itself.
