The OBDSTAR M015A is an Adapter cable that converts a Honda 4-pin OBD connection to a standard 16-pin OBD2 (J1962) connector. The cable is designed for use in diagnosing Honda outboard motors and boat engines that have a proprietary 4-pin diagnostic port. The Adapter cable is only compatible with OBDSTAR readers and programmers.

The M015A connects the Honda-specific 4-pin port on the engine to the OBD2 input of the connected OBDSTAR device. Through this connection, the diagnostic signals from the engine control unit — including K-line communication — are transmitted to the reader.
