The OBDSTAR M015A connects the 4-pin diagnostic port on Honda outboard and marine engines to the 16-pin OBD2 (J1962)-socket of your OBDSTAR diagnostic device. The 4-pin side plugs directly into the engine port.
Honda uses a proprietary 4-pin diagnostic connector on its outboard and marine engines instead of the standard automotive OBD2 socket. Communication runs over the K-line. This cable remaps the non-standard Honda port layout to the standardised J1962 pinout, allowing your diagnostic tool to read engine data correctly. What you gain is access to the outboard engine control unit. The cable itself adds no coverage — your device's software determines which Honda engines and functions are supported.
