The OBDSTAR M077 is an adapter cable that converts a 19-pin FPT connection to a standard 16-pin OBD2 port (J1962). The cable is designed for use with OBDSTAR readers or programmers and enables diagnosis on vehicles with an FPT engine diagnostic port. FPT (Fiat Powertrain Technologies) is an engine platform used in various vehicles from brands within the Stellantis group and related manufacturers. The cable is specifically intended for applications with a combustion engine.

The 19-pin round FPT connector connects to the vehicle's engine diagnostic port, while the other end has a standard OBD2 plug that connects directly to the OBDSTAR diagnostic device. Through this connection, diagnostic protocols such as K-line and CAN are transmitted, allowing the reader to communicate with the engine control unit (ECU). The cable itself does not perform signal processing but ensures correct pin translation between the FPT port and the OBD2 interface of the diagnostic device.

  • Live data measurement: Requesting real-time measured values from engine sensors and actuators via the ECU connection.
  • ECU programming: Applying software modifications or recoding of the engine control unit via compatible OBDSTAR programmers.
  • System identification: Reading vehicle and ECU identification data such as software and hardware versions of the engine unit.
