The OBDSTAR FCA 12+8 adapter cable is specifically designed to connect OBDSTAR diagnostic equipment to vehicles from the FCA group equipped with a Security Gateway Module (SGW). This cable facilitates a physical bypass of the security module by using the specific 12-pin and 8-pin connectors, which is necessary for diagnostic work on models produced from 2018 onward.

By connecting directly to the wiring of the SGW module, the digital lock of the standard OBD2 port is bypassed. This provides full access to the CAN bus network, which is essential for functions requiring write permissions. The adapter converts the system-specific connection to a universal 16-pin OBD2 female connector, ensuring communication protocols are correctly passed to the diagnostic interface.
