The OBDSTAR FCA (SGW) 12+8-pin Adapter Cable is a diagnostic adapter specifically developed for vehicles from Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA). This cable is designed to bypass the Security Gateway Module (SGW), which is installed in many models from around 2018 onwards. The adapter cable connects the 12-pin and 8-pin connectors of the vehicle to a standard 16-pin OBD2 port, allowing a diagnostic tool direct access to the vehicle's CAN bus.
Using this bypass cable enables full diagnostic functionality that would otherwise be blocked by the SGW. This allows users not only to read and clear fault codes but also to perform active tests, reset service intervals, and carry out advanced adjustments or programming on various control units in the vehicle. The cable is compatible with diagnostic equipment from various brands that support FCA vehicles.
Application and functionality:
This adapter cable is used to establish a direct connection to the vehicle systems of FCA models by bypassing the security of the SGW.
