The OBDSTAR M065 is an adapter cable that converts an Evinrude 3-pin diagnostic connector to a 16-pin OBD2 (J1962) connector. The cable is intended for use with Evinrude outboard motors in motorboat diagnostics and enables the engine management electronics of these motors to be connected to OBDSTAR diagnostic programmers and readers. The 3-pin plug on the vehicle side connects to the factory diagnostic port specifically designed for Evinrude outboard motors.

The cable converts the signal protocol of the Evinrude 3-pin port to the standard OBD2 pinout read by OBDSTAR equipment. Through this connection, fault codes can be read, engine parameters queried, and diagnostic sessions performed on Evinrude E-TEC and similar electronically controlled outboard motors.
