The OBDSTAR M083 is the universal adapter cable for the 9-pin round diagnostic port on marine and industrial diesel engines. It connects that port to the 16-pin OBD2 (J1962) connector of your OBDSTAR device and attaches directly to the diagnostic port on the engine side.
The 9-pin round connector is used by several marine diesel engine manufacturers. The cable carries signals such as K-line or CAN-bus to the diagnostic scanner. The pin configuration is specifically tailored to these marine applications, so no additional adapters are required. What you gain is access to the engine control unit of the boat motor. Which fault codes, sensor readings and system data are available depends on the OBDSTAR device you use and the support for each engine brand in the accompanying software.
