The OBDSTAR CAN FD Adapter is a diagnostic accessory for reading and controlling ECU systems in vehicles operating according to the CAN FD protocol. The adapter acts as the intermediary between the vehicle's OBD2 connection point and compatible OBDSTAR tablets, such as the Key Master DP Plus. The housing features four LED indicators (POWER, CANFD1, CANFD2, and SYSTEM) that display power and communication status during a diagnostic session.

When in use, the adapter is placed in the vehicle's OBD2 port and connected via the accompanying cable to the OBDSTAR tablet. Once the connection is active, the adapter translates the CAN FD communication into a signal that the diagnostic tablet can process. The LEDs provide immediate feedback on the active CAN FD channels, allowing the technician to monitor the communication status per channel during reading, coding, or programming of an ECU.
