The OBDSTAR N043 is a conversion adapter that converts a 6-pin BRP diagnostic plug to a standard 16-pin OBD2 connection (J1962). The adapter is intended for use with OBDSTAR readers or programmers and enables diagnostic connections on BRP motorcycles that are not equipped with a standard OBD2 port. The adapter is also referred to as M043 within the OBDSTAR accessory system.

The adapter connects the vehicle’s 6-pin BRP diagnostic port to the OBD2 input of the connected OBDSTAR device. Through this connection, the diagnostic communication is transmitted between the vehicle system and the reader, converting the pin layout of the BRP connector to the corresponding pins of the J1962 standard. The adapter itself does not perform signal processing but provides the physical and electrical connection between both connector types.

Engine management system diagnosis: The engine management system of BRP motorcycles is read via the 6-pin diagnostic port, converted to the OBD2 interface of the diagnostic system.
