The OBDSTAR M022A is an adapter cable that converts a Benelli 6-pin diagnostic connector to a standard 16-pin OBD2 (J1962) connector. The cable is intended for use with Benelli and Benelli DSK motorcycles equipped with a brand-specific 6-pin connector that does not fit directly onto an OBD2 interface. The cable is exclusively compatible with OBDSTAR diagnostic devices and programmers.
The adapter cable connects the vehicle’s own 6-pin diagnostic port of the motorcycle to the 16-pin OBD2 input of the connected OBDSTAR device. Through this connection, diagnostic data can be read over the K-line or CAN bus communication line present in the vehicle. The signal is transmitted without active conversion: the cable acts as a passive pin conversion linking the correct pins of the Benelli connector to the corresponding pins in the OBD2 plug. This enables communication between the diagnostic system and the motorcycle’s electronic control units.

The M022A Adapter Cable enables the following diagnostic tasks on Benelli motorcycles when used with a compatible OBDSTAR device.
- Read fault codes: Stored and active fault codes from the motorcycle’s electronic control units can be read and displayed on the OBDSTAR device via the connection.
- Clear fault codes: After inspection or repair, stored fault codes can be cleared from the control unit’s memory via the diagnostic connection.
- Live data display: Real-time sensor values and system parameters can be read during motorcycle operation for diagnosing current system conditions.
- Vehicle identification: Reading the vehicle identification number (VIN) and other vehicle-related data is possible via the diagnostic connection.
