The OBDSTAR TCM-009 is an adapter cable that connects to the 58-pin connector of the transmission control module on a Getrag DPS6 gearbox at the vehicle end, and terminates in a 15-pin DB15 connector at the device end. The 58-pin side plugs directly into the TCM housing of the six-speed dual-clutch transmission itself, which is physically mounted on or within the transmission casing — not the OBD2 port of the vehicle.
The Getrag DPS6 is supplied by Ford under the name PowerShift and by Renault as EDC (Efficient Dual Clutch). The gearbox operates with an electronically controlled dry dual-clutch system, where the TCM manages all shift and clutch commands. For this reason, the unit features its own highly-pinned connector: the cable routes the relevant signal lines, including power, ground and communication lines, through to the DB15 interface of your OBDSTAR device. The cable is specifically designed for bench work, with the TCM removed from the vehicle and placed on the workbench. What the cable does is make the unit accessible; what you can subsequently read out, reprogram or clone is determined by your own OBDSTAR device's software. The cable does not add vehicle coverage and is tied to this specific pin configuration.

Applications and functionality
The TCM-009 establishes the bench connection between the Getrag DPS6 transmission control module and the DB15 input of your OBDSTAR device.
Control units you can access
- Getrag DPS6 TCM: The transmission control unit of the six-speed dry dual-clutch gearbox, via the 58-pin connector on the TCM housing.
- Disconnected unit: The connection is designed for a TCM that has been removed from the vehicle wiring harness and powered separately.
What you can do
- Read TCM software: Extract the current software version and calibration data via the bench connection and save it to your OBDSTAR device.
- Reprogram TCM: Supply a new or replacement unit with the correct software and vehicle-specific parameter data, without requiring the vehicle to be operational.
- Clone TCM: Read the complete contents of an existing unit and write it to a replacement TCM, including vehicle-specific configuration.
- Calibrate clutch parameters: Adjust or reset the parameters that control dry dual-clutch operation to factory settings.
- Note: Which of these operations are possible depends on the software and licence of your OBDSTAR device; the cable is simply the connection.
Compatible vehicles and applications
The presence of the Getrag DPS6 gearbox is the determining factor, not the vehicle model. The following versions were supplied with this six-speed dual-clutch gearbox and are marketed under different brand names by each manufacturer: PowerShift for Ford, EDC for Renault and Dacia.
