The OBDSTARTCM-010is an adapter cable with a 12-pin connector on the vehicle side and a15-pin DB15-connector. The 12-pin side connects directly to the port on the Getrag VGS2-FDCT or VGS-FDCT transmission control unit, which is mounted on the transmission itself and is typically accessible via the engine bay.

The VGS-FDCT family controls the seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT) fitted to certainMercedes-Benz- andInfiniti-passenger vehicles. The unit features its own 12-pin connector so that the control unit can be accessed at hardware level, outside the OBD2 port and the vehicle network. This provides stable signal transmission required for TCM programming and reading of transmission-specific data. No additional power supply beyond the connected diagnostic device is required. The cable unlocks this transmission control unit exclusively; engine management and you won't reach other modules with it. Or programming, reading and pairing a replacement unit will depend on the software and licence of your own OBDSTAR device. The cable itself does not add any vehicle coverage.\n
