The OBDSTAR TCM-010 is an adapter cable that converts a 12-pin TCM connection to a 15-pin DB15 connector, specially designed for use with OBDSTAR readers or programmers. The cable is intended for direct communication with the Getrag VGS2-FDCT and VGS-FDCT transmission control unit (TCM), as used in the 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT) of certain Mercedes-Benz and Infiniti passenger cars. This adapter cable allows access to the TCM without involving the vehicle network, enabling direct access to the transmission control unit.
The cable connects the 12-pin plug directly to the port on the Getrag TCM unit, while the DB15 side connects to the OBDSTAR diagnostic system. This direct TCM connection bypasses the OBD2 port and ensures stable signal transmission at the hardware level, which is necessary for functions like TCM programming and reading transmission-specific data. The cable is exclusively suitable for use with OBDSTAR equipment that supports the Getrag VGS2-FDCT and requires no additional power supply beyond the connected diagnostic device.

The OBDSTAR TCM-010 Adapter Cable supports the following functions when used with compatible OBDSTAR equipment on the Getrag VGS2-FDCT / VGS-FDCT transmission control unit:
- TCM programming: Overwriting or reinitializing the transmission control unit via direct hardware connection, without using the vehicle’s OBD2 port.
- Reading transmission data: Retrieving fault codes, live data, and configuration data specifically stored in the Getrag DCT control unit.
- Replacement of TCM unit: Support for pairing a replacement TCM to the vehicle, including the necessary parameterization after installation.
