This adapter cable connects the 14-pin Consult connector of older Nissan passenger cars to a diagnostic tool with a 16-pin OBD2 plug. The grey connector is usually located under the dashboard, near the fuse box on the driver's side.
Nissan used this connector from 1989 to the late 1990s. Via the Consult connector you can read, among other things, the engine control and, where fitted, the ABS. The connector itself supplies power and earth to the diagnostic tool. The cable physically converts the connector; the diagnostic tool itself must support the Nissan Consult protocol.
