Mercedes W205/W222 EIS/ELV to 16-pin OBD2 Adapter Cable
The Mercedes W205/W222 EIS/ELV to 16-pin OBD2 adapter cable is a highly specialized diagnostic and programming adapter for the latest generations of Mercedes-Benz vehicles. This cable is not intended for standard OBD2 diagnostics via the vehicle port, but for direct communication with the EIS/EZS module on the workbench (“on-bench” use).
This connection is necessary for performing advanced tasks such as key programming, EIS replacement or reprogramming, and testing modules outside the vehicle. The cable powers the EIS and creates a direct CAN bus communication line with programming hardware, bypassing systems such as the Secure Gateway (SGW).
Application and functionality:
This cable is used exclusively in combination with specialized key programming and diagnostic equipment (such as from Autel, CGDI, Xhorse). Typical applications include:
- All Keys Lost: Calculating passwords and programming new keys when all keys are lost
- Module replacement: Transferring data from a defective to a new EIS module
- Test platform: Simulation of communication between EIS, key, and ELV emulator outside the vehicle
- Data reading/writing: Reading and modifying EEPROM/Flash data
Note: only suitable for FBS4-compatible tools and for professional use.
